Bankitalia: tourist expenditure grows in Italy

June 2016 closed with a surplus balance of tourist payments of €1.946 billion, compared to €1.925 billion during the same month the previous year, according to Bank of Italia (or Banca d’Italia). Expenditure by foreign travellers in Italy (€3.981 billion) increased by 3.2%.

In the January-June 2016 period, a surplus of €6.040 billion was recorded, compared to €5.747 billion in the first half of 2015, and expenditure by foreign travellers in Italy (€16.093 billion) increased by 3.1%.
