Posted: 8 November 2016

2.1 billion Euros is the turnover recorded by the Italian hotel sector in 2015, an increase compared to 2014 of 10.5%.

This result is stimulated by the interest by major international chains who have planned key development plans in Italy together with domestic operators that are active again with development strategies.

Also 2016 has maintained a level of growth and it is estimated that by year-end sales can record an amount of 2.4 billion Euros (expected change of + 14.3%).

For 2017, finally, the outlook remains positive in light of a number of initiatives in the planning stage.
The hotel “portfolio” has been greatly renovated in the last year especially in its high service segment (four and five star). The new openings were 11 (or about 1000 rooms) including 4 hotel graduated as “5 stars” (388 rooms in total).

The b&b’s growth is powerful, especially in municipalities with poor tourist, thanks to the promotion strongly supported by the widespread dissemination of information through social networks and Internet.
