The State Property Agency, or Agenzia del Demanio, and the municipality of Pozzuoli ((www.agenziademanio.it/opencms/it/ConsultazionePubblica/consultazionepubblicaexsmompozzuoli/), promote a public consultation on ideas and proposals for the enhancement of the former S.M.O.M, a complex located in the Solfatara volcanic area, within Campi Flegrei, in a panoramic and dominant position over the gulf of Pozzuoli.
The structure, which the authorities have recognised as being of historical and architectural interest, consists of several buildings and has a total area of 22,000 sqm. Article 26 of the Unblock Italy, or Sblocca Italia, decree provides for a framework agreement between the institutions, which has the effect of changing the town planning and which will identify a new use for the complex and define the project for its redevelopment and renovation.
The decision to proceed to a public consultation is aimed at understanding the views of the public whilst at the same time sounding out interest in the market regarding the asset’s possible future use scenarios.
