Italy’s real estate market in recovery but still lagging behind European peers

Posted: 26 May 2016

As of April 2016, Italy’s real estate market is still growing less than European average, owing to the only partial effect of structural reforms and slow economic activity. According to Scenari Immobiliari’s ISI index, the residential market is recovering while the non-residential market is showing some improvement compared to the previous month, with substantial stability in the industrial and office segments.

In the commercial segment, the increase in retail sales, albeit slight, after a lengthy period of decline, has boosted the market and encouraged companies to implement their reorganization plans.
