Growth in the Italian real estate market, Rome on top

The Italian real estate market opened positively in 2024 with an increase in total transaction volumes which, compared to last year 2023, recorded a percentage increase of 43%. In the first half of 2024 a greater price stability was recorded, an increase in transactions exceeding 100 million and at the same time an increase in the square footage of properties sold as well.

 

In the first six months of 2024, investments increased, covering 54% of total transactions and further underlining the climate of investors confidence. The real estate market in Rome in particular saw a growth compared to previous years, especially in the office market which in the Capital recorded approximately 55% of total transactions.

 

Finally, a contraction in the rate of vacant or unsold properties was noted in Rome during the first half of 2024, reaching a rate of 8.4%. Rental prices for luxury properties per square meter have also increased and in this segment there is a low rate of vacant or unsold properties of around 1.4%.
