Mountain Hospitality: more than 30% of the ski areas are in the Alps
In recent years Italy has been recording very positive trends in mountain hospitality: increased environmental awareness, research of experience before the holiday, increase in the availability of travel, a change in the offers and the duration of stays.
The mountain has become a popular destination, so much so that 12.7% of the searches of Internet users looking for a holiday are in this area.
The analysis Report Hotel – Mountain Focus by World Capital also highlights that there are 2,000 ski areas worldwide, of which 50% are concentrated in Europe and more than 30% are located in the Alps.
Focusing on Italy are found 7 areas: 3 in Alto Adige, 2 in Trentino, 1 in Piedmont and 1 in Lombardy. Moreover, thanks to the ski plants present in Lombardy and in Veneto, it was possible to apply for Milan-Cortina to host the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
