Expo area, masterplan tender to be ready by end November
By the end of November the tender will be launched for selecting the advisor to assist Arexpo in defining a masterplan for the Parco della Scienza, del Sapere e dell’Innovazione (Science, Knowledge and Innovation Park) to be built on the site formerly hosting EXPO 2015, declared the President of the company which owns the area, Giuseppe Bonomi. It will be a European tender, in a single phase and without division into lots, and it will focus on both the master plan and the business plan. “The tender will not just be a search for the masterplan designer but also for developers,” explained Bonomi. The value of the tender will be 1% of the company asset value, around €2.8 million. Meanwhile, said the President of Arexpo, “We conducted an international tour to present the post-Expo project to foreign investors and the feedback was very good with a number of investment funds expressing interest in the deal.” The Arexpo shareholders meeting will have to vote an increase in capital dedicated to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Following the transaction, MEF will become the largest shareholder with between 39.09% and 39.33% of the capital. The Lombardy Region and the Milan Municipality will each have about 21%, whereas Fondazione Fiera will stand at 16%.
