Sole 24Ore: where to buy a home in Italy
In the ranking drawn up by daily economic newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, first place went to Aosta, which has climbed 7 places since 2015 when it was ranked eighth. Milan remained Italy’s second most liveable city whereas Rome, thanks mainly to the value of its real estate assets and flow tourist, earned three places compared to last year and ranks 13th. The quality of life survey compares liveability in different Italian provinces, using a wide range of indicators divided into six areas of research: business, environment, demography, justice, culture and participation. To render it a more comprehensive survey of liveability, the 2016 survey paid particular attention to house values, youth employment, capacity for innovation, integration of foreigners, the supply of welfare and civil participation. The six areas under examination thus became more inclusive with the parameters rising to 42 from 26. Other cities in top positions where homes are for sale on www.investinitalyrealestate.com include Trento (in third place) followed by Belluno (fourth) and Florence (sixth), Bolzano (seventh), Udine and Trieste, (ninth and tenth respectively).
