Adjacent, there is a building area with land area of total 502 m², to be used as a social residence – Casa di Cura, on which there is a floor area of 930 m² over a basement to be used as a cellar. It appears to have already existed in documents of 1810 as a “government building”. It was used by the government, specifically the Ministry of Justice, and was the Bergamo Prison, from 1970 until 2019, and its intended use was that of accommodation for the ministry’s staff
The complex is located in the city of Bergamo, one of the most important cities of Art in Lombardy. The building is located on the hill of S. Eufemia in the ancient village of “Bergamo Alta” which is the historical part of the Municipality, a village still surrounded by Venetian walls; a World Heritage Site protected by UNESCO. The village is accessible on foot by means of the stairways that connect it from the lower part of the city, by car or even by funicular or by bus. The residential building is located in the immediate vicinity of the architectural complex of the Venetian Rocca di Bergamo and Parco delle Rimembranze and within walking distance of the main square Piazza Vecchia and among others of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Colle Aperto the most panoramic point in the area, at the heart of the tourist attractions, also renowned for its shops, markets and Michelin-starred restaurants. The Municipality of Bergamo is crossed by the A4 motorway that connects it to Milan and Brescia and is served by the Bergamo – Orio at Serio airport; the second national and international airport in Milan.
