The building is divided into two aboveground floors plus basement level; the services are located on the basement floor, on the ground floor, intended for the public, the various entrances from Viale Matteotti can be found, while the first floor houses the director’s office, the administrative office, the council room and the operational offices. Since its construction, the building has not undergone significant renovation work; it is inspired by an essential style with the central body consisting of a parallelepiped with large armoured glass surfaces protected by adjustable steel louvres. The load-bearing structure is made of steel pillars and beams (on which the floors rest), with a floating floor finished in marble in the public hall and in wood in the other offices.

The property is located in the semi-central area of Grosseto (population 81,636), capital of the province of the same name, in the Tuscany region, in the immediate vicinity of the historic centre of the city, with access from Viale Giacomo Matteotti, near Via Roma. Some of the most important buildings in the city can be found in the area: the Sienese Keep of Grosseto, the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Courthouse, the Archaeological Art Museum of the Maremma and the Modern Theatre. The building, well served by the public transport network, is about 400 meters from the railway station, and can be easily reached by car from all directions, along the Provincial Road “SP delle Padule”, the Provincial Road SP-154 and the E-80’s exit “Grosseto Sud” (extra-urban section of the State Road SS-1 “Via Aurelia”).
