A tourist complex designed by Arch. Paolo Portoghesi is located on the Gargano Promontory, one of the most famous seaside area in Apulia Region and the Adriatic coast, in Vieste , near Pugnochiuso, in a high touristic area.
The structure, divided into different buildings, each with different functional purpose, has a an octagonal planimetric shape with a central courtyard. It develops a gross floor area of approximately 19,000 m², distributed within a land area of 52,000 sqm. The building used as a hotel, is organized in three floors above ground and a basement; it has 171 double rooms for 342 beds in total. The part of the structure used as and hotel management school and staff accommodation is divided into three floors above ground and it has 60 rooms for 95 beds in total. Another part is the services section and it includes the lobby, the restaurant (400 seats), the kitchen and the meeting hall (400 seats) and it is articulated on one level for 3,000 m² covered, while the service rooms ( laundry, kitchen, warehouse, cold storage) are located in the basement .The complex has a disco, two pools, one Olympic size, two tennis courts, surrounded by a large outdoor area, partly used as a park, which goes down to the beach. The structure, in fair condition, is free and the recovery plan includes the restructuring, without any change of use destination.
The tourist complex is located in the town of Vieste (13,975 inhabitants) in the province of Foggia (630,851 inhabitants), in the Gargano National Park, looking directly on the “Baia di Campi, characterized by sandy shallow waters, and bordered by cliffs, near the popular beach resort Pugnochiuso. The property is 10 km far from the town, with direct access from S.P. 53 “Mattinata-Vieste” which also crosses the S.P. 54. Foggia is 78 km far away, Trani 114 km, Bari 165 km.
