The Villa located along Via Giulia was built by the Tonon family in the mid-18th century. The current layout of the building, with an eighteenth-century layout, is the result of the reorganization and reinterpretation, in Art Nouveau style, carried out at the behest of Arturo Tonon, in the early years of the twentieth century; the property is surrounded by a large park, in the large area in front, planted with various tree species. The property is divided into two distinct portions: the «Villa», whose ground floor in the past was used as a pizzeria, and the «Barchessa» or porticoed barn , recently built, which however remained unfinished. The Villa has plaster with serious signs of water infiltration, the old exposed electrical system has never been replaced and the sagging of the lathwork is evident in the ceilings; the doors, windows and shutters are made of wood, while the floors are made of Venetian marble or granite. The Barchessa has no finishes and windows, with only the load-bearing structure in reinforced concrete and bricks and a completed wooden roof slab equipped with gutters and downpipes as the completed parts; the underfloor heating system was set up, but never completed, as were the other systems present.

The property is located in the municipality of Montereale Valcellina (population 4,231), in the historic centre of the hamlet of San Leonardo (population 500), in the plain in the province of Pordenone, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, between the Cellina stream, Mount Fara and Mount Spia. The municipal territory has an altitude between 170 and 1,641 meters above sea level, with a maximum altitude range of 1,471 metres. The area is located near the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park, a UNESCO heritage site, and the Vajont Dam. The urban centre of Montereale is approximately 8 km from the area, while Pordenone is approximately 17 km away (20-25 minutes by car). The “Pordenone” exit of the A-28 motorway, which allows access to the A-4 (Turin-Trieste), is approximately 20 km from the property (25-30 km by car).
