At the entrance to the Branch on Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the layout shows an additional body created to offset the irregularities of the road levels that the building overlooks. The building, divided into four floors, in addition to the basement and roof, underwent renovation work in 1959. The basement houses the archives, the vault and technical rooms; on the mezzanine floor there is a large space where the Institute’s activities took place; on the first floor the administrative office, the boardroom, the Director’s office, a warehouse and the library can be found; the second level houses the service accommodation, while on the third floor there is an apartment.

The building is located in the historic centre of Brindisi, capital of the province of the same name, in the eastern bay. The former banking institute can be accessed from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. Some of the most important historical and monumental buildings of the city, such as the Duomo and the Palazzo del Municipio, can be found in the area. The building is located near Via del Mare, which allows one to quickly reach the commercial ferry terminal and the maritime station. The SS-16 (Adriatica), the main Adriatic road that connects Padua with Otranto, runs along the city and allows one to move quickly along the coast. The “Taranto Nord” exit of the A-14 motorway (Bologna-Taranto) is about 96 km from the property (60 minutes by car). The train station, which guarantees connections with the cities of Bari, Lecce and Taranto, is 1 km from the area (15 minutes on foot). Brindisi airport is about 5 km from the property (10-15 minutes by car).
