The Conca Tower (also called Torre Conche or Pietra della Nave) is a late 16th-century coastal tower near Pollina–Finale, on a rocky plateau overlooking the bay and the State Road SS 113, just west of Capo Rais Gerbi. Part of the Tyrrhenian watchtowers system, it has a square plan, a sloping base made of blocks, and a body made of stone with a string course and corners made of dressed stone. Today it is a ruin without floors or roof, with deteriorated walls: it requires securing.

The tower was probably built in the late 16th century – the first half of the 17th century and is part of those buildings constructed following designs first developed by Tiburzio Spannocchi and later by Camillo Camilliani on behalf of Viceroy Marcantonio Colonna, in order to strengthen the island’s coastal defences against Barbary raids. The tower has a square plan that rises vertically over a floor that houses a cistern.

It was accessible probably from the first floor through a retractable ladder that reached the walking floor located about 6 meters above ground level. Between the base and the first floor, a string course divides the structure into two sections and is characterized by a loophole with an arch on the east side of the tower. The structure is in an advanced state of decay and is, in fact, a structurally vulnerable ruin. The perimeter stone walls show widespread erosion of the mortars, disintegration of the joints, material gaps, and cracking, particularly along some corners. The top course has largely collapsed, with loss of the parapet and upper portions of the walls; numerous brackets are broken or heavily damaged, with protruding elements in a precarious balance.

The Conche Tower is located in Sicily, in the province of Palermo, in a suburban area in the locality of Piano di Himera, along the SS 113 (Northern Sicilian State Road). The property is situated between the municipalities of Cefalù and Pollina, at the foot of the vast natural area of the Madonie Park and directly overlooking the homonymous “Torre Conca” beach. The context is characterized by a coastal environment that is still lightly urbanized, with few buildings and large, unspoiled natural areas. Its proximity to the SS 113 ensures a direct road connection to nearby towns and represents the main access route to the area, making the property easily reachable while still being located in a predominantly scenic area.
