The building is composed of two blocks of construction joined in an “L” shape. It borders to the north with the internal courtyard of the property, to the south with Via Verdi, to the east with another property, and to the west with Via Berruti. The facades on Via Verdi and Via Berruti are clad in travertine slabs, while the internal ones, facing the courtyard, are rendered with standard plaster. The property, formerly a branch of the Bank of Italy, features a point-supported load-bearing structure in ordinary reinforced concrete, with reinforced concrete foundations and reinforced concrete/brick slabs. The pillars are connected on each floor by reinforced concrete beams, arranged both transversely and longitudinally. The perimeter walls and the internal partitions are made of brick. The roof includes waterproofed and paved flat terraces on the first, second, and partially fourth floors; also on the fourth floor, there is a two-slope roof made of reinforced concrete with a layer of clay tiles. The internal fixtures are wooden, while the external ones are metal.

The building is in the historic city centre, near Piazza Vittorio Alfieri, in an area very active from a commercial and institutional point of view. In the immediate vicinity are the Asti Police Headquarters, the Court, and the State Archives, as well as many of the most important historical and cultural sites such as the Torre Troyana, also called Clock Tower, in Piazza Medici, the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the Art Museum of Palazzo Mazzetti, the Crypt of Sant’Anastasio, and Monte Rainero Park. In the area there are also some of the main parking areas of the city such as the parking lots at Piazza Campo del Palio, Piazza Vittorio Alfieri, and Via Alessandro Artom near the local railway station, which is easily reachable also on foot.
