Rome, December 17th, 2020 – Workshop

The minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism Dario Franceschini, together with Antonio Agostini, director of the State Property Agency, Giorgio Palmucci, president of Enit – National Agency of Tourism, and Fausto Recchia, CEO of Difesa Servizi SpA, have signed an institutional agreement to develop a communal programme of network initiatives on public premises, under the brand Valore Paese Italia.

The project aims to increase the tourist and cultural offer by creating a national network that draws on new management models and new forms of public-private partnership, also by inventing innovative instruments of entrusting and promotion.

Valore Paese Italia is an initiative dedicated to the enhancement of the public real estate that combines tourism, culture, art, environment and landscape, sustainable mobility and territorial identity, first presented last October 7th. The director of the State Property Agency, Antonio Agostini, while opening the workshop highlighted that “the Agency considers its mission to enhance the State’s assets in order to support the economic recovery, especially in this dramatic moment of health emergency. Slow tourism and sustainable mobility in our Country have an enormous potential, strongly connected to our cultural, religious, historical and landscape heritage.”

The tourist sector is going through a very difficult time, but after this desert – said the minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism Dario Franceschini – Italy will present itself on the international market with a history and a journey that redraws also the accomodation layout. By enhancing the public real estate, it will be possible to carry out a widespread tourism and to facilitate access to little-known destinations currently lacking in accomodation capacity, through new partnerships. A public-private cooperation model will encourage the users’ interest in new forms of cultural and touristic experience and economic value. Each country has its own history and culture, the Italian way of life and the Made in Italy are the peculiarity of our country, which is unique and world’s first with its 55 Unesco sites”. Fausto Recchia, CEO of Difesa Servizi SpA, said: “In order to proceed with the programme for the enhancement of lighthouses, launched by Difesa Servizi SpA together with the State Property Agency, next week will be published on the Official Journal the fourth tender notice relating to the lighthouses managed by Difesa Servizi SpA”.
