Bank of Italy: Household lending grew by 2.8% in February

According to the Banks and Money bouletin by Bank of Italy, in February lending to the private sector, adjusted to take account of securitizations and other loans transferred and derecognized from banks’ balance sheets, expanded by 2.4 per cent on an annual basis (2.7 per cent in January).

Household lending grew by 2.8 per cent (unchanged compared to the previous month), while that to non-financial corporations expanded by 1.2 per cent (2.0 in January).

Private sector deposits rose by 5.5 per cent on an annual basis (unchanged compared to the previous month); bond funding fell by 19.0 per cent (-16.7 per cent in the previous month).

Bad debts fell by 10.8 per cent (they fell by 9.2 per cent in the previous month).
