The Council of Ministers has approved “The establishment, under the Decree of the President of the Republic, of the National Park and of the National Park Authority for the Island of Pantelleria.
The Park’s final setup will have to include a breakdown of the areas provided for by Law 394/91: Zone A – integral reserve, Zone B – general reserve, Zone C – protection area, and Zone D – area for economic and social promotion.
Amongst other things, the plan should provide for vehicular and pedestrian accessibility systems, as well as structures and services systems for the management and social functions of the park, museums, visitor centres, information offices, camping areas, and agricultural-tourism activities.
