Federalberghi: tourism boom in Italy for holidays

According to a survey of Federalberghi, an association of tourism and hotels operators, 14.2 million Italians will be on vacation during Christmas and New Year holidays, almost 12% more than last year.

During the Christmas period, the 91% will remain in Italy (86% in 2015) and 9% will go abroad (14% in 2015). At New Year the 83% will remain in Italy (80% in 2015) and 17% will go abroad (20% in 2015).

The total turnover that is generated is 8.7 billion, 9.5% more than 2015.
