Posted: 28 March 2018

The percentage of Millennials who prefers to buy a home rather than living in rent is growing.

According to a survey by Tecnocasa, a network of realtors, 59.6% of young people between the ages of 18 and 34 who have left parents’ home have bought their homes, while 43.1% have preferred rent. In the 2H of 2016 the percentages were, respectively, 47.9% and 52.1%.

Among those who chose the rent, 40.8% did so by choice of housing, 42.6% for work-related reasons and 16.6% for study reasons. Most of those who bought homes needed financial support from their parents.
