The building is located in Piazza Libertà, in the heart of the historic center, adjacent to Palazzo Ghilini—one of the city’s most prominent monumental landmarks, currently housing the Prefecture and the Provincial Administration.
The property comprises a basement, a raised ground floor, three upper floors, and an attic level. It consists of 15 real estate units with the following permitted uses: credit institution (bank branch), offices, residential apartments, a former recreational club, warehouses, storage rooms, and an electrical substation. The structure is developed over five floors above ground and one basement level.

The current building was reconstructed in 1954, based on a design by engineers Costantini and Scardellari of the Bank’s technical department, with consultancy by Marcello Piacentini. Symmetrical in both its floor plan and main elevation, the property features a ten-bay portico extending along the entire façade on Via Dante, and a single-bay portico on Via Pontida.
The side porticoes, although defined by tall, austere pillars clad in stone slabs externally and marble internally, soften the solidity and symmetry of the main elevation. The composition is anchored by a traditional rusticated base marking the raised ground floor, above which paired pilasters provide a rhythmic articulation to the upper section.
The building features a hybrid structure of reinforced concrete and load-bearing masonry. The roofing also employs a hybrid system of ribbed concrete and clay tile (latero-cemento); the roof covering is finished with barrel tiles (coppi) laid over corrugated cement sheets.
The property is a listed building, officially declared of cultural interest pursuant to Art. 10, paragraph 1 of Legislative Decree 42/2004.

The building is situated in the historic center, overlooking one of the main squares within a prime commercial and institutional district. In the immediate vicinity are the Prefecture, the Central Post Office, Palazzo Cuttica, and several heritage sites, including the Cathedral, the Museo della Gambarina, the Borsalino Museum, and the Civic Library.
The area is well-served by parking facilities at Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza della Libertà, and Piazza della Gambarina, with additional parking available near the Hospital and Spalto Marengo. Both the Railway Station and the Stadium are within easy walking distance.
