The building is located in the historic centre of Ardore, in an area of great historical and landscape importance. It overlooks Piazza Umberto I and was built in the splendid setting of the garden of the seventeenth-century Castle of the Gambacorta Dukes. The building is divided into two levels above ground and has an L-shaped layout, overlooking, on the west side, a suggestive valley. The building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century and retains the architectural features of the period: the façades open outwards with a regular alternation of full and empty spaces, with a large corner balcony on the first floor, supported by shaped brackets; on the ground floor the entrance is adorned with an exquisite portal with false ashlars that encloses the round arch. In addition to the valuable architectural features, the building pays witness to a piece of Italian history and its administrative organization of the territory.

The building is located in the historic centre of Ardore (population 4,845), a municipality that is part of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria. The area is located a short distance away from the archaeological site of Locri Epizefiri, a city of Greek origin, of notable historical interest. The village is located on a hill, not far from the Ionian coast of Calabria, and the hamlet of Ardore Marina is approximately 6 km away (12 minutes by car). The area can be reached by car via the the A-3 motorway (Salerno-Reggio Calabria), exiting at the Rosarno tolls, then continuing along the state road SS-106 (Jonica) to Ardore Marina. Ardore Marina’s train station, on the Catanzaro-Reggio Calabria regional line, is 5 km from the property. The airports of Reggio Calabria and Lamezia Terme are respectively 90 and 130 km from the area (90 minutes by car).
