Maritime lighthouse built by the Italian Navy in a non-urban coastal area in front of the protected marine area, only 8 km from the centre of Isola di Capo Rizzuto and attainable by road from the residential area. The military complex includes a building (accommodation) connected to the tall octagonal tower leading to the lantern via a circular stairwell. The main building (accommodation) has a regular floor plan, is symmetrical and only one storey above ground level. The military complex has two small appurtenant utility buildings. The internal floor area is 365 m² with appurtenant area of ​​1,870 m². The complex will remain the property of the Ministry for Defence and will be licensed to third parties for redevelopment.

The lighthouse is located on the Capo Rizzuto headland in the municipality of Isola di Capo Rizzuto (17,552 inhabitants). Since pre-Hellenic times the place has been considered sacred and inviolable, a strategic reference point for navigation. It is a coastal town located south of Crotone, the most important urban area along with nearby Isola di Capo Rizzuto. It is home to a protected marine park established in 2002 and, with 42 km of coastline, is the widest in Italy. In addition to being an area of significant archaeological interest, it also presents a rich array of animal and plant species. Capo Rizzuto is renowned for the sea, its beaches and its proximity to the famous “Le Castella” seaside resort. It is also well-known for the Aragonese castle surrounded by the sea and the Capo Colonna archaeological site. There is good road access to the property from Via Faro, which leads to the centre of Isola di Capo Rizzuto. Crotone is 28 km from the property.
