BORGO SIEGA DI LUNGIS, 7 - 33020 Socchieve (UD) The estate, dating back before 1942, is a mountain row house of rural type, originally divided into three residential units, developing on four levels above ground with a small private courtyard, and situated in the hamlet of Lungis close to a large public parking area.
In 1981 the building structure has been affected by refurbishment works.
The building is in rough stage of completion, with supporting structure in stone and masonry and a wooden pitched roof covered in tiles, devoid of any finishes, doors and windows and technological systems, fully customizable.
The floors are in concrete. The wider terrace, both on the first and the second floor, consists of floor, support columns and wooden parapet, as typical of the place, but due to the building conditions it is currently not possible to access the first and third floors.
The compound is externally accessible on three sides and is close to a paved widening used as public parking area.
It is situated along the Carnic Pievi Trail, a pilgrims’ way accessible on foot or by bike,
inspired by the Way of St. James, that passes by the numerous small mountain churches scattered in Carnia, a territory with a strong geographical and historical individuality.
The estate is in semi-central area in Via Vincenzo Bellini, in the hamlet Borgo Siega di Lungis in the municipality of Socchieve (UD). It is easily reachable by car via the highway A23 in the direction of Tarvisio, exit Carnia-Tolmezzo, and then following the State Road SS 52 in the direction of Forni di Sopra, exiting at Lungis.
Situated in the mountain region of Carnia, in the upper Tagliamento Valley, the town of Socchieve, besides the homonymous centre, comprises seven small villages set at an altitude between 400 and 700 m asl: Nonta, Priuso, Lungis, Viaso, Mediis, Dilignidis and Feltrone. It also includes the hamlet of Chiamesans, on the border with the municipality of Ampezzo, and the hamlet of Siega, on the shores of the stream Lumiei, as well as many farmhouses scattered on the uplands around the river Tagliamento.
