The compound, used by the Air Force, consists of one main building, a 18th century edifice in Lombard style overlooking Via Umberto I, with two inner ells and a transverse wing which enclose a small courtyard. A second block of buildings is adjacent to it. 

The estate is in the city centre (near Prato della Valle), a few hundred metres from the most important places of cultural and touristic interest and about 1 km from the railway station and from the airport.

Padua is capital of the homonymous province in Veneto, it is the third most populated town in the region after Verona and Venice and the one with the highest population density. With its 407.000 inhabitants, it is the centre of the most populated metropolitan area in Veneto.

It is served by the highways A14 (Bologna-Padova) and A4 Serenissima (Turin-Trieste) and has different railway stations; the main one is Padova Central Station, with links to all the major Italian cities.
