Prison structure never utilized and made up of a building for detention complete with service homes and three small buildings for accessory functions. The entire compendium is surrounded by a continuous concrete wall. The main body, that develops itself on two levels above the ground, with an internal courtyard, is made up of 24 areas each with its own toilet, as well as rooms for common activities, refectory, tv and library rooms, rooms destined for nursing and medication, kitchen, speaking, judicial offices, guardian activities. The main structure is in reinforced concrete and doesn’t present clear signs of structural damages, while the finished parts are in terrible conditions and need consistent interventions. The current urban tool in the Municipality of San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore includes the property destined for “General Equipment” of common interest (hospital, prison, headquarters of judicial offices, compound) however, it is possible, with the adoption of a variation to the General Regulatory Plan, to transform it into a touristic and hotel facility.
