The real estate property consists of a single U-shaped building spread over Piazza Mameli, Via Montenotte, Via Niella and Via Astengo. The building is divided into five aboveground floors, plus a basement level and an attic floor, and is equipped with several stairways for access to the various floors. The main intended use of the property is a credit institution, however inside the building there are other real estate units, used as service accommodation for the staff of the former branch, in particular:

  • Elegant homes, intended for the director, deputy director and cashier;
  • Civilian dwellings, intended for caretakers and Carabinieri on permanent guard duty;
  • Corporate after-work areas, intended for branch staff as recreational areas.

The building boasts an internal courtyard, for the exclusive use of the former branch for loading and unloading valuables, with a large driveway and access from Via Astengo, where there is also the access ramp to the service garage located in the basement and intended for parking 3 – 4 cars. The terraces on the top of the two wings are for the exclusive use of the service accommodation. There are no green areas. The building can be accessed from six independent entrances, three on Piazza Mameli at numbers 1, 3 and 3/A, the others on Via Niella 2, Via Montenotte 1 and Via Astengo 22/R.

The building, the former headquarters of the Bank of Italy, is located in the historic centre of Savona (population 58,194), capital of the province of the same name, between the Darsena and Piazza del Popolo, where a large car park can be found. In the area there are some of the most important historic and monumental buildings of the city, such as the Brandale Tower, the Priamar Fortress, the Anton Giulio Barrili Civic Library and Villa Cambiaso. The port of Savona, with the cruise terminal, is 850 meters from the property (10 minutes on foot), while the railway station, which guarantees connections with the cities of Genoa, Milan, Turin and Bologna, is 1 km away from the area. The “Savona” exit of the A-10 (Autostrada dei Fiori) is 4.5 km from the property (10 minutes by car).
