The building was constructed in 1937 to house the offices of the Magistrates’ Court, and consists of a structure with an “open-V” shape, on the corner of two streets that are almost orthogonal to each other. The main entrance to the property is located between Via Guglielmo Marconi and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, there are also two additional entrances: one on Via Verdi and the other on Corso Vittorio Emanuele from the external courtyard. The main façade is characterised by a curved surface, while the load-bearing structure is made of masonry, with floors in brick and cement and a pitched roof with panels in asbestos panels. The building is spread onto two levels: the ground floor was intended for the judicial offices and lawyers while the first floor housed the magistrate and some offices. A small structure with access from both courtyards of the building can also be found. Inside, the building is in a serious state of abandonment and in a very poor state of conservation. The ground floor is currently occupied, without contracts, by two associations, with external and independent accesses.

The property is located in the central area of Serra San Bruno (population 6,266), a municipality in the province of Vibo Valentia. The municipality is located in the green heart of the Serre Vibonesi, home to the oldest charterhouse in Italy, founded in the year 1000, an unmissable destination for those seeking a journey between nature and spirituality. The presence of the Charterhouse has enormously influenced the architectural, economic and cultural development of the town and the entire district. The urban area is crossed by the former state road SS-110, which joins the state road SS-18 Tirrenica and allows access to the A-2 (Salerno-Reggio Calabria) motorway, exit “Pizzo Calabro”; if one is coming from the south, the recommended exit is “Serre” to join the state road SS-182. The tourist resort of Vibo Marina, on the Tyrrhenian coast, is located approximately 50 km from the area (60 minutes by car).
