Rome and Milan register the highest numbers for mortgaged real estate units to guarantee the loan in 2017.
According to the Agenzia delle Entrate in Rome in 2017, 41,492 properties were mortgaged (+ 3.2% over 2016) for a value of €7,742 billion (+ 20.7%).
In Milan, 25,133 properties were mortgaged (+ 8.4% on 2016) for a value of €9.365 billion (+ 71.4%).
In the eight large cities (Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples, Genoa, Palermo, Bologna and Florence) 105,050 properties were mortgaged (+ 5.8% on 2016) for a value of €21.840 billion (+ 34.1%).
