Sorgente sells Piazza Cordusio headquarters in Milan to Hines

Posted: 20 July 2016

Sorgente SGR, the Sorgente group’s asset management company, has sold the building in Via Cordusio 2 in Milan for €130 million to Hines Italia, on behalf of a major foreign investor that the latter represents.

The building, purchased six years ago by Fondiaria SAI and after having accommodated major tenants such as law firm DLA and Commerzbank, is currently vacant. With its six floors above ground, an attic floor, a mezzanine floor and a basement, it dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century.

Together with Palazzo Broggi and the Palazzo delle Poste, or post office building, it constituted an integral part of Milan’s financial district. In recent years the square has been changing vocation, moving to become one of the new locations for Milan’s fashion district.
