The city of Segrate approves the plan for the first new smart city founded in Italy

The City Council of Segrate, near Milan, has finally approved the Piano Integrato di Intervento (or Integrated Action Plan) of a Smart City presented by R.E.D. Ltd.

The stipulation of the planning agreement will be formalized by summer 2017, while the start of construction is estimated starting in October 2017.

The project will house about 90,000 sqm of built area, including private residential, villas and social housing, commercial areas, a retirement home and a cultural center, as well as a large 80,000 sqm park.
