Posted: 29 March 2018

According to the Global Investment Atlas 2018 report by Cushman & Wakefield in 2017, real estate investments in Italy have grown for the fifth consecutive year, reaching about 11.3 billion euro (+ 18% on an annual basis) and exceeding the record values recorded in the period previous to the financial crisis (10.8 billion in 2007), thanks to the foreign capital. The trend is expected to be positive also in 2018.

The offices were confirmed as the reference sector for investments (about 40% of the total), registering volumes in further growth compared to the previous year (+ 17%). The retail sector was positive (20% of the total), with the high street segment confirming its interest.

The best performance in terms of annual growth in the volume of investments was however recorded by the logistics sector, which almost tripled the volume of transactions, with approximately 1.5 billion euro.
