The building presents a rectangular layout and is divided into three aboveground floors, plus a basement and attic, with an enclosed outdoor space. The elevations are characterised by the presence of window openings arranged in regular rows and symmetrically linked along the vertical direction. There is a secondary entrance to the building, visible on the wall adjacent to it, and characterised by a simple round arch with exposed bricks in the upper arch. The property was built with a masonry structure, in stone and solid brick, with low-cost finishes. The building is of cultural interest, as it is a nineteenth-century example of a construction built according to purely functional criteria, linked to its use as military accommodation and to the fortification activities carried out in the area; for this reason it represents an important historical testimony.

The property is located in the municipality of Dolcè (population 2,533), in the province of Verona, in the hamlet of Ceraino. Accessibility by private vehicle is guaranteed by the SS-12, an important road that connects Pisa with the Brenner Pass, and passes through the hamlet of Ceraino, where the building is located; secondary provincial and municipal roads can also be found nearby, mainly used for local traffic. Public transport is provided by provincial and regional bus services. Numerous cycle paths as well as itineraries and trails for lovers of cycling excursions (slow tourism) can be found in the area. The property is 27 km from Verona (30-40 minutes by car), while the “Affi-Lago di Garda Sud” exit on the A-22 (Brennero) motorway is approximately 12 km from the area (15-20 minutes by car). Dolcè railway station, on the Bolzano-Verona line, is 4 km away from the area (5 minutes by car), while Verona’s airport is 24 km away from the municipality (25-30 minutes by car).
