The property, called “Ex Montecatini” used for manufacturing and industrial purposes, is labelled by the current county urban development program (PUP) as an urban and territorial redevelopment area. The municipality of Rovereto’s PRG, which will shortly be approved by the County Council, identifies the area as a mixed local manufacturing and service industry area and has put its overall organization under the rules of general purposes Executive Plan. The “Ex Montecatini” area, formerly “Alumetal”, in relation to area A, was labelled as a potentially polluted site in the Register Office of Sites to Reclaim in the Province of Trento in 2006. With the County Council Sanction n. 1231/2011, the Plan of Reclaim (POB) was approved. With the County Council Sanction n. 1193/2014, the deadline to complete reclaiming work was postponed to 30th June 2019. The interventions put forward by executive plans for the ex Montecatini complex are regulated by the 17° Alteration of the PRG, approved with the G.P. n. 2363, 31.10.2013. To carry out the plan, all of the property’s rooms have to undergo a precautionary check-up for cultural reasons according to article 12 of Legislative Decree 42/2004. The redevelopment of the site is an interesting investment opportunity in one of the most famous industrial districts of Italy. The most remarkable building of the complex is the “Oven Room”, 400 metres long, built beside the river Adige, near the Brenner motorway and the railway. Extremely interesting is also the building which was the former “Power Plant”, protected by the Architectural Heritage.
