The villa was built in the “Viennese Secession” style, an artistic movement founded in Europe and in the United States at the end of the 1800s. The villa has three floors above ground : the main façade, facing East, has a state of the art central body and above the entrance, on the middle floor, there’s a balcony of honour with a pillared balustrade; the back of the building, facing West, has an inset facade, and forms a courtyard, giving access to the villa from the park behind. The estate has a majestic entrance that opens onto a tree lined driveway, emerged in beautiful parkland. The structure is a mixture of walls in ordinary and reinforced brickwork. Vast halls and the custodian’s lodgings are found on the ground and first floors, while on the second floor there’s a welcoming guestroom with sixteen beds and a communal area. The current purpose of the building is mainly tourist accommodation, complying to what’s declared in the current urban plan in the municipality of Zafferana Etnea (it’s included in the TT3 agricultural area, zone D – art. 44 NTA), meaning: quality agricultural activities non directly linked to accommodation, rural accommodation even in habitable centres of this area and the transformation of agricultural products in the same inhabited centres.

The villa is located in the municipality of Zafferana Etnea (pop. 9,517), in the metropolitan city of Catania (pop. 1.115,535), inside Etna Park, famous for the “Miniature Sicily” theme park, that includes the “Miniature Park”, the “House of the Bees” and the museums of Ancient crafts and antiquities. The villa is located on the Provincial Road 8 (Via IV Novembre, 97) in the Sarro district, near the ancient church of Saint Vincenzo Ferreri, at an altitude of 574 metres. The city of Catania is 27 km away, Acireale 15 km away while the “Acireale” exit on the A-18 Motorway (Messina-Catania) is 11 km away. Catania’s railway station is 26 km away, while the international airport of Catania “Fontanarossa” (6th Italian airport with 7,9 passengers in 2016) is 40 km away; the Catania port is 26 km from the area.
