Rome: demand for the prestige segment is stable

Posted: 9 October 2018

Rome is the first Italian market for sales number (31,000 transactions in 2017), which grew by 3% on an annual basis. In 2018 Q1 transactions (7,077) experienced a slight setback.

The biggest sales increase concerned small-sized properties (+8%) with about 2,900 transactions, followed by 50-85 sqm assets (+4%) which, with 12,890 transactions, represent more than 41% of the Roman market.

On the other hand, properties of 115-145 sqm represent 27% of total sales.

The prime sector is recording an overall stable demand with improvements in the Historic City Centre, San Giovanni and EUR, according to the 2nd Market Report edited by Engel & Völkers, with the collaboration and scientific support of Nomisma.
