Dynamism signals of Italian real estate market are struggling to translate into higher prices

In 13 intermediate markets – unlike in the metropolitan ones – in the last year, according to Nomisma, in addition to shrinking, the real estate values recorded a slowdown in the recovery trend, both for sales prices (on average -1,2% the variation 2017-2018 for new houses and –2% for used ones) and rent fees.

The residual weakness observed over the prices represent – according to Nomisma – a legacy of the past (overestimations) and current fragilities (composition of demand and addiction to mortgages).
