The lighthouse is located in the immediate vicinity of Maiori, along the Amalfi coast, overlooking the sea, and is accessible from the coastal road via a suggestive path, which opens into the Mediterranean scrub and descends to the coast. The site was built by the Civil Engineering Department in 1882. In 1903, after some renovations and modifications, the building passed to the Italian Navy, becoming a lighthouse for sighting and signalling. The property was declared to be of particularly important interest with Decree no. 168 of 07/07/2003 pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 490/99, issued by the Regional Superintendency for Cultural Heritage and Activities of Campania. The asset, recently renovated, is made up of three isolated buildings: two warehouses and the main building, the latter developed on two floors above ground (originally intended to house the lighthouse keeper), with a flat roof featuring a central avant-corps in which the lighthouse used by the Navy is placed. The plastered elevations have linear string courses, while the last level towards the sea has staggered ones.

The property is located on the Amalfi Coast, in the municipality of Maiori (population 5,320), overlooking the sea, 5.5 km from the urban area. The area, visited by tourists from all over the world, is easily accessible by car, thanks also to its proximity to the motorway infrastructure. The nearest train station is Vietri-Amalfi, on the regional and metro lines of Naples, which is about 10 km from the area (15-20 minutes by car). The city of Salerno is about 16 km from the asset (25-35 minutes by car), while Naples is 60 km away (50-60 minutes by car). Naples “Capodichino” International Airport, one of the largest and most important in the entire peninsula, is located 65 km from the area (50-60 minutes by car).
